What We Do

XPND smart apps will help all businesses grow by promoting effortlessly their products across multiple marketplaces and channels. We allow all merchants, big or small, to focus on what truly matters while XPND runs top-level advertising campaigns self-generating sales, saving them hours of effort to understand, set up and manage it. Within their own e-commerce platform, merchants only have to access the XPND app. In one click, XPND will automatically push their catalogue to most popular marketplaces, and product listings all over the web. Machine learning works its magic, and sales start to grow.

XPND Ecommerce is a very young project, with high potential. With only four people in the team now, we plan on growing fast and launching our product before the end of the year. A first fundraise is planned soon, which will be followed by hires in product development and sales & marketing.

The Internship

We are looking for an intern to support the CEO and Company Board in software engineering to participate in product & applications development. The ideal candidate will be someone with object-oriented software engineering experience, a passion for creating outstanding software, and motivated to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.

What You Will Learn

• Overall delivery management (functional and non-functional) of software development and integration projects encompassing architecture, development and test
• Managing a software engineering project and team, ensuring high quality development and product stability
• Setting coding standards, doing code review and setting development process
• Ensuring appropriate Quality Control systems are in place and adhered too
• Guiding project planning and management, including project and software documentation
• Providing feedback and input on the product pipeline and roadmap, leading the team on executing iterative changes to improve the product
• Participating in developing the product and applications, overseeing development to ensure it follows the original design and achieves the optimal performance & user experience

The Requirements

• In the process of completing a degree in Software Engineering
• Proficient in Java & object-oriented software design and development
• Technologies:
• Java
• Javascript
• Node.js
• AWS Cloud Services (EC2,ELB,S3,DynamoDB,Lamba,Athena,Cloudwatch)
• Experience working on both back-end & front-end projects
• Ability to understand and work with complex code
• Attention to detail and deep understanding of engineering best practices
• Experience in test driven development
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are critical to the role
